Corporate Worship

Welcome to Valley!  Our mission statement is "Following Christ Together."  Our gathered time of worship is a place of sanctuary, or safety.  This being the case, we wanted to provide you with what to expect to help you feel connected and a part during your time with us.

We love people and are eager to hear your story.  As such, our trained greeters are available at the two main entrances to meet you and help you get to where you need to go, from restrooms, to the worship service.

Have children ages birth-3?

We have a staffed nursery where all of our volunteers have had background checks and have regular training to maintain Child safety protocols and other regulations.  Contact our nursery coordinator, Tammy Hall, for more information.  There is an information card used during the sign in process that a volunteer will help you work through when you put your child into our care.

Have children ages 4-1st grade?

Before the end of music worship and the preaching, children of this age are invited to participate in Children's Church.  You will see other parents get up and take their children to the back right and left of the worship center.  There is a sign-in where you will be greeted and offered help in the brief registration process in our fellowship hall.  During Children's Church, your children will work through the curriculum Teach Me to Worship, which introduces and explains the elements of worship, such as Benediction, Reading of the Word, Tithes, and more!

Our volunteers are back ground checked and recieve regular training in child protection and safety policies and procedures.  For more information, please contact Betsy Palm, our Children's ministry director.

Have children with special needs?

We have a sensory room available for children with special needs.  There are volunteers who have been background checked and recieve regular training in our child protection and safety policies available.  We do ask the first time you use this resource, you stay with your child after signing them in.  This helps the volunteers get to know your child and their specific needs.  They will recieve a snack if you are willing and the volunteers work their way through the Catechism For Kids with them.

Our music style is slightly eclectic as those serving have a versatility of giftings.  We have a regular blue grass style worship set, but on the norm we simply have an acoustic/piano led band with drums, banjo, electric, and vocals.  We play a variety of hymns, modern worship songs, and ancient texts set to new music.  We want to cultivate a love for truth being sung in worship and value songs that help preach the gospel before the Word is exposited for us.

We preach through books of the Bible, through the lens of what is called the Fallen Condition Focus.  What does this mean?  Simply, that we believe the Bible speaks to us where we are, exposes us to our sin, and points us to the grace of God as given to us in Jesus.

Congregational Readings

There are times where we will speak words together. The words are provided in the Bulletin and on the screens. The Call to Worship is moment to gather our thoughts. To reflect on where we have been this week and where we are at the moment. Its a moment at the beginning to help direct our hearts, thoughts, and feelings toward our merciful God.

We usually do a Confession of Sin or an Affirmation of Faith. These are times where we confess sins as a group of people and ask for God's forgivness as well as affirm truths that root us in the ancient history of God's people.

Please feel free to join in these affirmations!

During the middle portion of the service, we do take an offering.  This is a time for the church to worship through giving.  If you feel so led to give, please feel free to participate!
